At least according to ESPN. The web site recently rounded up the top 50 hoops programs of the last 50 years using some sort of complicated points system that measured — well, we’re really not sure how they measured it, but who cares. North Carolina came out on top.
The page also played that favorite bar game and named its all-star starting five of the last 50 years.
G – Phil Ford (1974-78)
G – Michael Jordan (1981-84)
F – Antawn Jamison (1995-98)
F – James Worthy (1979-82)
F – Tyler Hansbrough (2005-09)
Seems about right.
And if you’re wondering, Dook came in at #4, despite ranking the 49th top program throughout the 1970s.
